The UM361X is a bright ultra short throw projector which is ideal for education. The projector mounts above the board or screen and projects a wide image from very close – for example, you can get a 1.5 m wide image from only 54cm away and the wall mount kit comes supplied as standard. Short throw is great because there will be no shadows on the screen and no glare in the presenter’s eyes. It is also useful if you are limited on space. A built in 20W speaker is surprisingly powerful (enough to fill a small to medium sized room), and means you wouldn’t need to purchase any additional speakers. The bright 3600 lumens means that you can present with the lights on and blinds open at any time of the day and still get a bright image. You will not lose any brightness due to the UM361X being short throw. With XGA resolution, the UM361X will project a sharp, crisp image, showing presentations and spreadsheets in good detail. It is suitable for PowerPoint, images and short video clips. Widescreen projectors are recommended for long movies. However, you will get a sharp image when connecting to a computer with the UM361X. One of the strengths of this projector is the range of inputs which includes two HDMI, VGA, and USB meaning you can connect more than one device at the same time. There are two USB ports and you can present PC-free via a USB stick. There is also a microphone input too. NEC are very good on their green Eco features and it keeps the running costs down. Including an off timer, which will switch off the projector if no source is connected or detected after a certain amount of time. Overall, this is a reliable, user friendly projector perfect for classroom use and has many features.
